According to the health authority, all these patients had suffered from chronic conditions, including mental problems, diabetes or high blood pressure.

In addition, they came to hospitals when their conditions became worst after treatment at home showed ineffective.

Relevant agencies should continue investigating the cases to have better diagnosis and treatment, said Deputy Health Minister Trịnh Quân Huấn.

Dr. Nguyễn Văn Kính from the Institute of Contagious and Tropical Diseases in Hà Nội stressed that the Institute has received adequate biological substances for lab testing. In case of the severe epidemic outbreak, Việt Nam can provide effective treatment.

As of late September 9, 4,060 people were tested positive for the A/H1N1 virus. Among them, 3,296 have fully recovered and left hospitals while others  are undergoing treatment in stable conditions./.
