First rice trading center to be launched late this month

VGP – The first rice trading center of Việt Nam will be inaugurated on the occasion of the First Rice Festival Việt Nam scheduled in late November in the southern province of Hậu Giang.

The trading center, to be managed by the Việt Nam Food Association, will be developed from a 20-ha rice market in the province’s Châu Thành A district.

To date, 30 enterprises have registered to trade there, said Mr. Nguyễn Văn Đồng, Director of the Hậu Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

This is the second agro-product trading center in Việt Nam, after the coffee trading floor in Buôn Mê Thuột City in the Central Highlands province of Đắk Lắk.
