Up to now, over 200 local and foreign organizations have registered to join the event which is organized by the locality itself in collaboration with the Việt Nam Food Association, and the Việt Nam Southern Food Corporation (Vinafood 2)
Preparatory work is being finalized, including mobilizing funds and opening training courses for volunteers.
Activities in the event include fairs, seminars, exhibitions, and the debut of a transaction floor on rice.
According to the Hậu Giang Provincial People’s Committee, the first rice festival is a significant socio-economic event as it will help attract foreign visitors and rice traders to the country’s largest granary.
