Accordingly, four northern mountainous provinces of Hà Giang, Tuyên Quang, Yên Bái and Cao Bằng will benefit from the program’s second phase with total fund of €13.2 million, including €10.5 million as a non-refundable aid of the Finnish Government, and €2.7 million as the counterpart funding from the Vietnamese Government.
Besides, a national water rotating fund will be established to provide financial assistance for water works.
The program’s first phase with total fund of €20.8 million has been implemented successfully in the northern city of Hải Phòng and other three northern provinces of Bắc Cạn, Thái Bình and Hưng Yên.
Some 28 million Vietnamese people currently live in over 700 urban areas, including more than 600 towns which often face shortages of safe water and sanitary works.
