Farm exports reach nearly US$2 bln in Jan.

VGP – Viet Nam earned around US$1.95 billion from exports of agriculture-forestry-aquaculture products in January, a year-on-year decline of 13.8%, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Of the figure, farm produce exports were valued at US$859 million, down 11.8%, while exports of seafood saw a decrease of 25.6% to US$412 million and forestry product export generated US$520 million, down 8.2%. 

Export items saw an increase included tea, cashew nuts, cassava and cassava products. 
In January, Viet Nam shipped abroad 9,000 tons of tea, raking in US$17 million, up 1.4% in volume and 5.7% in value year on year. 

Meanwhile, cashew nuts brought home US$29 million from 18,000 tons, representing respective year-on-year increases of 16% and 20%. 

However, rice exports generated US$152 million, a year-on-year decrease of 12.7% for a volume of 312,000 tons, down 14.5%. 

Coffee exports were US$202 million, down 23.6% in the reviewed period./VOV./.
