Ever biggest automobile exhibition opens in HCMC

VGP – “Automobile Việt Nam 2009," the fifth but biggest exhibition of its kind ever held in Việt Nam, was officially kickstarted this morning in Hồ Chí Minh City.

Nearly 100 sample vehicles are introduced by eleven members of the Việt Nam Automobile Manufacturers' Association (VAMA) at the 5-day exhibition. 

Producers and 60 enterprises trading in spare parts bring to the exhibition many latest models, including domestically-made and imported ones, which are supposed to satisfy tastes of Vietnamese consumers.

The most noteworthy are strategic series of tourist and family vehicles produced by such giants as Toyota, Mercedes, Honda, Ford, GM Daewoo.

There are also models of specialized vehicles, coaches, heavy trucks and lorries of domestic producers.

Automobile manufacturers also introduce some environmentally-friendly technologies applied in automobile industry. 

As part of the exhibition, a seminar will be organized, focusing on the topic “Developing automobile industry in Việt Nam: Opportunity, challenge, and experience from regional countries.”
