EPC contract inked for thermo power plant

VGP – The Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contract for the Mạo Khê Thermo-electricity plant, worth nearly US $429.5 million, was penned this morning in Hà Nội by the Việt Nam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) and a Chinese contractor, KAIDI.

The contract covers designing, manufacturing, equipment supply, transport, construction and installation, trial run, training, and maintenance for all machinery, devices and buildings.

The duration of the contract for Turbine 1 is 36 months and for Turbine 2, 42 months. 

The Mạo Khê Thermo-electricity Plant, US $577 million, is located in Đông Triều District of the northern province of Quảng Ninh.

When coming into operation in 2012, the 440 MW plant can generate about 2.6 billion KWh per year.

Later on the day, Vinacomin and the Việt Nam Export Import Bank (Eximbank) signed a credit contract worth of US $56 million for the project.
