Environmental protection projects provided with capital assistance

The Ministry of Finance has issued Circular No. 12/2017/TT-BTC guiding the procedures of supporting investment capital for environmental protection projects, which are protected by the State under the form of granting the Patent for Invention or Utility Solution as stipulated at Decree No. 19/2015/NĐ-CP detailing the Law on Environmental Protection.

Projects getting access to capital assistance must be realized in accordance to regulations at Decree No. 19/2015/NĐ-CP; established, expertised, approved or granted with investment certificates ; completed or settled or had test-run finished and  eligible for normal operation.

The assistance is equal to 10% of the capital equipment of the project after audited by an independent auditing company.

The Viet Nam Environment Protection Fund (VEPF), under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, is responsible for providing the capital assistance.

The Circular will take effect from March 27, 2017.
