EC, UNIDO help SMEs to enhance capacity

VGP – Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will benefit from a technical assistance project funded by the European Commission (EC) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

An agreement on the €2 million project was signed by the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), EC and UNIDO yesterday in Hà Nội.

Under the legal document, the EC will fund €1.6 million and the UNIDO contributes the rest.
The project focuses on raising the awareness of corporate social responsibility and improving competitiveness of Vietnamese SMEs.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ambassador Sean Doyle, head of the EC delegation to Việt Nam, hoped that the project would make practical contributions to sustainable production and consumption in Việt Nam.
