Last year, Vecom offered its opinions to the Ministry of Information and Communications in drafting the Decree on Anti-Spam and to the Ministry of Industry and Trade on making online contracts. It also helped some domestic enterprises to do online payments.

According to Vecom Chairman Lương Văn Tự, after one year applying e-commerce, 37% of enterprises have gained revenue from e-commerce (15% of their total revenue) and 50% spent 5% of their expenditure for e-commerce-related activities.

In 2008, Vecom plans to open more training courses on e-commerce and work with the Taiwan-based APEC Digital Opportunity Center to build an e-commerce center in Việt Nam.

On the occasion, the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department for E-commerce and Information Technology introduced TrustVn, a program to certify e-commerce websites.

TrustVn is designed to assess typical e-commerce websites on the basis of the framework standards of the Asia Trustmark Alliance (ATA).
