Viet Nam attaches importance to the relationship with Sri Lanka, asserted the Deputy PM, suggesting Sri Lanka create favorable conditions for its businesses to seek investment and cooperation with Viet Nam’s partners, especially in advantageous areas.

He said he hoped that the two nations will closely cooperate at international and regional forums in the future, strengthen high-ranking visits and people-to-people exchanges, thus creating a firm political base for promoting their relations.

Deputy PM Phuc proposed Sri Lanka approve the Agreement with Viet Nam on investment encouragement and protection, which signed in 2009, to pave the way for enhancing the two nations’ economic activities.

The Sri Lankan leader highly valued the preparations of Viet Nam in organizing the IPU-132 and the Viet Nam National Assembly’s active participation in the IPU over the past 35 years.

He expected that Vietnamese enterprises operating in agriculture and aquaculture will come to seek partnership opportunities in Sri Lanka in the future.

He confirmed that he will do his utmost to accelerate the two countries’ relations to a higher level.
