DPM Truong Hoa Binh attends Economic Cooperation Conference in Poland

VGP – Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh on September 21 attended the Viet Nam-Poland Economic Cooperation Conference as part of his working visit to Poland.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy PM briefed about recent developments in Viet Nam, including GDP growth rate of 6.81% in 2017, the highest figure recorded since 2011.

He also introduced improvements of the country’s business and investment environment, scale and potential of the economy, international integration, renovation and reform in the face of the 4th industrial revolution.

Poland is the largest trade partner of Viet Nam in the Eastern Europe while Viet Nam is the 7th biggest trade partner of Poland (excluding EU countries) with the two-way trade value reaching record of US$1.05 billion in 2017 and the total investment capital of US$230 million.

As the Viet Nam- EU Free Trade Agreement will be inked in the upcoming time, Deputy PM Binh encouraged businesses of the two sides to invest in the areas of mutual concerns, especially environment, agriculture and food processing.

The Vietnamese Government facilitates its enterprises to invest in Poland in such areas as information technology and production.

Delegates and businesses from Poland spoke highly of Viet Nam’s recent socio-economic achievements and highly valued Viet Nam’s role in the business network in ASEAN and Asia-Pacific.

Representatives of Polish enterprises highly appraised the Vietnamese Government’s determination to improve business and investment landscape and vowed to expand investment in the Southeast Asian country./.
