DPM receives President of the Korea International Exchange Fund

Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy PM hailed the strong development in the two nations’ relationship in all fields.

The third RoK-Viet Nam Forum for the Future is expected to strengthen Viet Nam-RoK Strategic Partnership in the new international and regional contexts, said President of the Korea International Exchange Fund Lee Si Hyung.

The Vietnamese leader appraised the Korea International Exchange Fund’s contributions to enhancing exchanges and cooperation between the two nations in culture and society such as teaching Koean language and culture for Viet Nam and supporting Vietnamese brides in the RoK to increase mutual knowledge between the two Governments and people. 

Mr. Lee Si Hyung affirmed to advocate and join with the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) to continue cooperative channels with Korean scientific agencies and policy consultancy.

The occasion, Deputy PM Dam thanked the RoK’s Government for providing the aid of more than US$1 million for Viet Nam to overcome consequences caused by typhoon Damrey and sent condolences over heavy loss of an earthquake in Pohang City on November 15. 

The Republic of Korea – Viet Nam Forum for the Future, the third of its kind, took place in Hanoi on November 21 in celebration of the 25th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.

Initiated by the Korea International Exchange Fund (KF) and the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) in 2012, the forum gathered policymakers, managers, experts, scholars and representatives from social organizations and press agencies to seek policy solutions to promoting the two countries’ relations for their peace, stability and prosperity.
