Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh made that statement on September 18 at his reception for Chief Justice and President of the Supreme People's Court of China Zhou Qiang, who is leading a working group to pay visit to Viet Nam.

At the meeting, the Vietnamese Deputy PM highly appraised achievements in the two nations’ cooperation in justice over the recent years, including the two Supreme People’s Courts signing the Memorandum of Understanding on justice in May 2018, which is expected to enhance experience exchanges, court management and training between the two sides.

The two nations’ investigation agencies have joined hand in investigating high-tech crimes, human trafficking, drug trafficking, smuggling and other groups of crimes, he said.

Mr. Binh asserted that Viet Nam attaches importance to the relations with China, regarding it as consistent and long-term guideline and the strategic and prioritized selection in its diplomatic policy.

He expected that the two countries' courts will share their experience on judicial reform, mutual legal assistance, increased access to justice for the people, transparency and publicity of the court's activities, anti-corruption as well as improve the application of information technology in courts, electronic courts, development of legal precedent, trial experience and study of legal fields of mutual interest.

For his side, Mr. Zhou Qiang confirmed that the two nations’ courts will further promote cooperation in training, application of high-tech and judicial assistance.
