Don Ca Tai Tu Festival to be held in Binh Duong

VGP - The 2nd ‘Don Ca Tai Tu’ will be held in Binh Duong Province from April 8-12, according to the organizing board.

The festival themed “Southern Amateur Music- Preservation and Development” will attract ‘Don Ca Tai Tu’ troupes from 21 neighboring cities and provinces throughout the country.

The event will have various attractive programs and activities, including a gastronomy space, a “Don Ca TaiTu” contest, a photo competition, an art exchange honoring musicians and artists who have outstanding contributions to the development of Don Ca Tai Tu, an ancient motor parade, a scientific research at provincial level on the sustainable conservation and promotion of Don Ca Tai Tu, tours serving visitors during the festival.

It aims to keep the tradition of Don Ca Tai Tu Nam Bo alive in the community and foster a love for this particular kind of music among the people.

The festival is part of the National Action Program for the Safeguarding of Don Ca Tai Tu in the 2014–2020 period launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism.

Don Ca Tai Tu Nam Bo (southern amateur traditional music) was recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity at the 8th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage held in Baku, Azerbaijan in December, 2013.
