Deputy PM urges Nghe An’s greater efforts to boost ties with Japan

The Deputy PM made the statement at the “Nghe An-Japan Meeting: Cooperation and Development” conference on April 26, within the framework of the ongoing “Meeting Japan – North Central Region” conference in the province.

He noted that the Politburo has issued a resolution mapping out orientations and tasks for the development of Nghe An province until 2020, which reflects the Vietnamese Party and State’s care for the locality.

The official asked local businesses to strengthen reforms and innovation to meet the requirements of Japanese partners, while accelerating the introduction and advertising of business and cooperation potential in the province.

At the conference, investors exchanged ideas on potential and advantages and discussed measures to strongly boost economic, trade, agriculture and education-training cooperation and cultural exchanges between Nghe An and Japan’s authorities, partners and businesses.

Tetsu Funayama, President of Mitsubishi Corporation Viet Nam, said that Nghe An should improve three indicators in order to further attract investment, regarding support for businesses, access to land, and time costs.

Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Umeda Kunio stated that the Nghe An-Japan ties are growing vigorously, and there remains room for further deepening the bilateral relationship. He called on Japanese firms to strengthen their investment in the fields of their strength, while asking Nghe An to create more favorable conditions for Japanese businesses in their development process.
