The Deputy PM confirmed that Vietnam always wants to cement cooperation with international organizations and pledges to support the UN renewal in general and UN performance in Vietnam in particular with a view of improving the Vietnam-UN cooperation.

UN Resident Coordinator John Hendra hailed the Vietnamese Government's five-year socio-economic development strategy. He also mentioned some challenges faced by Vietnam in the time to come, including environmental pollution, corruption and rich-poor polarization.

According to Mr. John Hendra, the UN is collaborating with Vietnam in realizing three projects among which he emphasized the Project “Increasing diplomatic capacity for economic purposes and policy dialogue between the Government and business community” funded with US$ 2.5 million by the UN Development Program (UNDP).
