Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân to tour Japan

VGP – At the invitation of Nikkei President Tsuneo Kita, Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân will go to Tokyo, Japan, on May 18-22 to attend the 16th International Conference on the Future of Asia.

Vietnamese Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân

The Vietnamese Deputy PM will deliver a keynote speech on Asian economic partnerships and meet with Japanese Ministers of Foreign Affairs; Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism; Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology; and National Policy; the President of the Japan-Việt Nam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance and the Vice President of Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). 

As scheduled, Deputy PM Nhân and his entourage will visit Tsukuba Space Center (TKSC) in Tsukuba Science City.

Organized by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, the International Conference on "The Future of Asia" is a forum that each year brings together political leaders, including many heads of governments, and top business executives from Asia to discuss outlooks of the region.

The main theme for this year's conference is "Toward an Open Economic Partnership: A New Foundation for Growth."

Discussions will be focused on how Asian countries should work together to develop the regional economic partnership as the new basis for growth while opening doors to extra-regional countries and how regional collaboration should be promoted in financial, trade, and environmental policies./.
