Deputy PM Binh meets with Japanese PM Abe

VGP – Viet Nam and Japan should coordinate closely at the World Economic Forum on ASEAN and the Mekong-Japan Summit, scheduled to respectively take place in September and October this year.

Permanent Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh made the above statement at his meeting with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe on June 11 on the occasion of his participation in the Conference on the Future of Asia in Japan.

PM Abe expressed his pleasure at the development of the Viet Nam-Japan relationship, affirming State President Tran Dai Quang’s recent visit to Japan was a significant activity marking the 45th founding anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

PM Abe suggested the two sides should work closely to deploy the agreements reached during Quang’s visit to Japan in order to further advance the bilateral ties.

The same day, Deputy PM Binh also had bilateral meetings with Tadamori Oshima, Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives, Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Seiko Noda, and President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Shinichi Kitaoka.

During the above meetings, Deputy PM Binh asked the Japanese side to boost exchanges and experience sharing in the fields like law making, e-government development and public administration.

Both sides should also enhance coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums, added the Deputy PM./.
