Addressing the event, Lukas Musil, Czech Deputy Ambassador in charge of politics, press, and culture, said the formation of the cultural corner has proven that Czech traditions and customs have been preserved and developed in Viet Nam.

The Czech Government is expected to establish a Czech centre in Ha Noi in 2019, he said, adding that Viet Nam is the third country, after the Republic of Korea and Japan, to have such a centre.

In turn, CCIC Director Nguyen Trung Dung highlighted the time-honoured relations between two countries, saying that alongside the economic partnership, the two countries have cooperated in cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

The CCIC wants to create a cultural space for Vietnamese who used to study and work in the Czech Republic to recall their time in the European country, as well as for young people to explore the Czech culture, he said.

The Czech cultural corner serves as a living library introducing the Czech culture to local people, as well as a venue for cultural, art, and language exchanges, Dung added, expressing his hope that it will contribute to the growing friendship between people of the two countries.
