She affirmed that the adjusted regulations have been implemented on the basis of NON-DISCRIMINATION principle.

Due to swift and complicated developments of the pandemic across the world, many countries and territories, including ASEAN member countries, have adopted restrictive measures of different levels for foreign entrants, Hang said.

Viet Nam’s mandatory measures on medical surveillance and isolation shall be applied to both Vietnamese nationals and foreigners with the ultimate goal of ensuring safety and health of Vietnamese citizens as well as foreigners in Viet Nam and containing spread of the virus to the wider communities.

Viet Nam highly appreciates and wishes to seek understanding and closer coordination from countries and territories in the implementation of these difficult decisions, the Spokesperson said.

The nation will continue monitoring closely the developments of the pandemic in order to make proper adjustments in accordance with the pandemic situation, Hang affirmed./.
