Consultative Group convenes mid-term meeting

VNGOP - A mid-term meeting of the Consultative Group (CG) was held in Hạ Long City on June 1 with the attendance of representatives from the Government donors and major financial organizations, including International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, Asia Development Bank.

The attendants focused on discussing some important issues such as reviewing and assessing Vietnam's socio-economic development tasks in the first six months of 2007; measures to speed up the implementation of ODA projects in key fields in 2007 as well as during the period of 2006-2010.

Addressing the Meeting, Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm highly hailed international donors' contributions to Vietnam's economic development over the past years. He also reaffirmed the Government's determination to promote administrative reform, fight corruption, and complete legal framework to fruitfully manage ODA and FDI.
