Chief legislator meets Japanese Lower House Speaker

VGP – National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on August 31 in New York met with Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Tadamori Oshima on the sidelines of the fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament.

NA Chairman Hung highly valued the National Diet and Government of Japan for special sentiments towards and valuable support for Viet Nam and ceaselessly nurturing the bilateral ties and friendship.

Mr. Hung suggested the National Diet pay attention to and support the implementation of signed documents on economics and encourage the Japanese Government to maintain ODA provision at high level for Viet Nam in favor of sustainable growth and industrial development by 2020.

Regarding the complicated developments in the East Sea which seriously threaten peace, stability, security, safety, freedom of navigation and aviation, Chairman Hung affirmed Viet Nam’s consistent policy on using peaceful measures in accordance with international law, the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), full and efficient implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and early building of a Code of Conduct (COC).

Speaker of the House of Representative Tadamori Oshima highly valued the developments in the Viet Nam-Japan relations “Partnership towards regional economic integration in East Asia.”
