Central region receives Gov’t aid to mitigate ravages of Mirinae

VGP – The PM just decided to allocate VND 225 billion from the central spare budget and 10,000 tons of rice from the national reserve for central province which were devastated by tropical storm Mirinae.

Tropical storm Mirinae causes heavy material and human losses in Central Việt Nam
Bình Định Province will receive VND 70 billion and 3,000 tons of rice, Phú Yên VND 100 billion and 4,000 tons; Khánh Hòa VND 20 billion and 1,000 tons; Ninh Thuận VND 5 billion; Gia Lai VND 30 billion and 2,000 tons of rice.

These amounts of money and rice are used to prevent hunger, purchase crop varieties, and repair infrastructure (schools, clinics, irrigation works, roads) and cover environment hygiene work.

The Government chief also required the provincial authorities to use their own local spare budgets and mobilize other legitimate financial sources to mitigate consequences of the storm.

Tropical storm Mirinae swept through central coastal province on Monday, causing nearly 100 deaths, 66 people injured and 20 missing. 

The initial damage is estimated to be about VND 76 billion.
