The PM assigned the MT to consider and approve the revisions in line with current stipulations. The revised Project’s total investment must not exceed that ratified by the PM. The MT was ordered to direct the acceleration of the Project’s schedule, ensure its quality, and decide the way to select contractors under current regulations.

It is reported that the Cần Thơ Bridge is the biggest work in the Mekong Delta, requiring a total investment of VND 4,832 billion as the Japanese Government’s ODA granted through the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). The construction of this 15.85-km-long bridge was started in September 2004. It is expected to be put into operation in 2008.
