Binh Duong aims for US$ 1 bln in FDI

VGP – The operation of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) businesses in southern Binh Duong Province has stabilized and shown positive signs.

As of the end of the first quarter of 2014, 2,255 FDI businesses are operating in the province with a total registered capital of US$20 billion.

Over the past three months, the industrial production of these businesses saw a year-on-year increase of 14% and accounted for 67% of the province’s total industrial production value.

The State revenue from this sector increased 34% compared to the same period last year.

28 FDI projects have had an additional capital of US$533 million in the reviewed months, accounting for 73% of total FDI attracted by the province.

With the aim of drawing in a total FDI of US$1 billion this year, Binh Duong has created favorable conditions for FDI businesses to develop and contribute to its economic development.

The General Director of KuyngBang Viet Nam, Lee Kap Soo, revealed that his company has planned to add US$54 million more to its capital.
