BIDV announce social security fund

Accordingly, BIDV will spend about VND 150 billion to replace dilapidated houses, develop infrastructure, education and healthcare, and grant disaster reliefs to residents in four districts of Sốp Cộp (Sơn La Province), Thường Xuân (Thanh Hóa), Kỳ Sơn (Nghệ An) and An Lão (Bình Định).

Another package of VND 122 billion will be poured into building schools, boarding-schools, and other facilities for vocational training colleges for students from poor groups and ethnic minorities in the Northwest, Central Highlands and Southwest regions.

BIDV also pledged to finance different social programs in other areas.

With a fund of VND 272 billion in total, BIDV hoped to facilitate poverty alleviation by generating sustainable jobs and raising people’s accessibility to essential social services.

From 2004 to 2008, BIDV spent over VND 80 billion to assist the poor, build 50 new schools of 400 classrooms each, equip thousands of educational facilities for poor communes, grant more than 2,000 scholarships for disadvantaged students, build 200 houses, provide tens of thousands of relief portions, and fund over 40 heart surgeries for poor children.
