Bamboo Airways to be granted with aviation business license

VGP – The Government Office has released a document announcing the conclusions of PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on granting aviation business license to Bamboo Airways, owned by property developer FLC Group.

Viet Bamboo Airlines Co., based in Phu Cat Airport, Phu Cat District in the central province of Binh Dinh, will be permitted to transport passengers, mail and freight both domestically and internationally.

Earlier, Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung signed Decision No. 836/QĐ-TTg approving the investment of Bamboo Airways air transport project in Phu Cat Airport in Phu Cat District, the central province of Binh Dinh.

Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho signed to grant an aviation business license to Bamboo Airways, owned by property developer FLC Group, on November 12.

FLC has positioned Bamboo Airways as a “hybrid” airline, blending low-cost traits with those of traditional or full-service carriers to meet the demands of every market segment. 

Bamboo Airways will cover international air routes connecting Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China) and the Philippines. It also aims to open flights to the U.S. and Europe in the long term.

Besides, the airlines will also launch domestic air routes such as Thanh Hoa-Quy Nhon, Thanh Hoa-Phu Quoc and Thanh Hoa-Nha Trang. 

By 2023, it will have 10 aircraft including Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 or Boeing 737 with the total investment capital of VND700 billion. 

It will operate in 50 years since July 9, 2018.
