Asian Youth Orchestra performs in VN

VGP - The Asia Youth Orchestra’s two performances are set to take place on August 17-18 at the Vietnam National Academy of Music (VNAM) in Ha Noi.

The event aims to honour young and talented artists from Asia. It also helps to enrich the performing arts experience of the young musicians.
 
Under the baton of James Judd, artists will present ‘Symphony No. 6’ and ‘Pathetique’ of musician Tchaikovsky and ‘Symphony No. 8’ of Dvorak while ‘Fanfare for the Common Man’ and ‘Appalachian Spring’ of Copland and ‘The Planets’ of Holst with conductor Richard Pontzious will be put on stage a day later.
 
Violist Do Ngoc Thao My from the VNAM is the sole Viet Nam representative at this year’s orchestra.
 
The orchestra consists of 110 outstanding and young musicians from mainlandChina, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam aged between 17-27.
