ARF Experts, Eminent Persons convenes 12 meeting in HN

The annual meeting, on March 6-7, aims to discuss regional security and emerging challenges, thus coming up with policy recommendations to the upcoming ARF Ministerial Meeting and submitted the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting (SOM). 

This year, Viet Nam co-chairs the event with Japan. Agenda of this year’s meeting focused on preventive diplomacy within the ARF’s framework, opportunities and challenges to preventive diplomacy in the future, and major security issues in the region, including those related to maritime and cyber security.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung hailed the ARFEEPs’ recommendations and policies over the recent years to make contributions to maintaining regional peace and stability and forming the regional security structure based on regulations.
