APPF Executive Committee adopts APPF-26 agenda

The 26th APPF Annual Meeting, themed  “Parliamentary partnership for Peace, Innovation and Sustainable Development”, is taking place in Viet Nam from January 18-21 with the attendance of delegates from 21 countries in the region, according to Vietnamese NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

The theme reflects the development trend of international relations, parliamentary diplomacy and guides our discussions leading to a joint declaration that emphasizes the commitments of all members to promote economic, cultural and regional cooperation for peace, security, prosperity, inclusive and sustainable development, Ngan said.

Top legislator Ngan expressed her hope that Viet Nam’s thorough preparations coupling with active engagement of the delegates would ensure the success of the meeting.

The participants will discuss and pass 41 resolutions and especially Ha Noi Declaration which mentions the outcomes of parliamentary cooperation over the past 25 years and figures out measures to further enhance the efficiency of parliamentary ties in the region.

The APPF is a mechanism that enables parliamentarians to discuss issues of common concern, and to deepen their understanding of the region and the interests and experience of its diverse members. The forum’s proceedings address political, security, economic, social and cultural issues, thus furthering regional cooperation and building relations between and among parliamentarians from the Asia-Pacific region./.
