Air New Zealand launches new route linking Christchurch, VN |
The inaugural flight departed at 6.40pm from Changi Airport and landed in Christchurch around 9.35am (all times local). The services will be operated with Air New Zealand’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering increased capacity across its cabins.
The new route will add to the New Zealand flag carrier’s existing flight service to 32 international airports in 20 countries and territories.
Statistics showed that in the first five months of 2018, around 18,180 New Zealand people travelled to Viet Nam, a 105.4 percent year-on-year increase. The number of Vietnamese visitors to New Zealand has also been growing rapidly, reaching 29,340 by April 2018.
This route provides more choices for Vietnamese travellers when flying to New Zealand.
The launch of the seasonal service follows recent plans to increase capacity between Auckland and Singapore from end-March to October, commencing in 2020, as part of the joint venture alliance between Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines./.
