Agriculture-forestry-aquaculture exports exceed US$3 bln in Jan.

VGP – Viet Nam gained US$3.09 billion from exporting agriculture-forestry-aquaculture products in the first month of 2018, a year-on-year increase of 25.9%, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The exports of agricultural, aquatic and forestry products reached US$1.68 billion, US$560 million and US$745 million, witnessing year-on-year respective increases of 34.1%, 15.6% and 18.5%. 

Rice exports in January attained 524,000 tons, worth US$249 million, up 56.5% in volume and 74.2% in value against the same period last year. 

The export turnover of coffee obtained 173,000 tons, valued at US$338 million, up 24% in volume and up 7% in value. 

Timber exports earned US$709 million in January, up 18.5%. The U.S., China and Japan were the largest importers of Viet Nam’s wooden products, accounting for 42.7%, 14% and 13.4%. 

The nation earned US$321 million from exporting fruits and vegetables, up 36.9%.
