A boost for aviation transportation

VGP – Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung has recently inked Decision 105/QD-TTg on enhancing aviation connectivity with tourism markets.

The project targets to open new air routes and raise flight frequency of Vietnamese airlines to key tourism destinations including the U.S., France, the UK, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Russia, Australia, and India. In addition, the project also aims to launch domestic air routes to key tourism regions in the North East Region, central heritages, South Coastal Region-Central Highlands Region, Mekong Delta Region, and Phu Quoc Island. 

By 2020, the project will open international flights in accordance with Decision 2119/QD-TTg on “Orientations for direct flight development among Viet Nam and key foreign countries and locations in favor of investment, exchanges, and international integration.”

By 2025, international air routes will be connected at international airports in Viet Nam. Domestic air routes in internal region, among regions will be connected. After 2025, domestic air routes will be enhanced. 

Key international markets include China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, France, the UK, Australia, the U.S, and India. 

The project puts forth specific measures including implementing the space open policy for the international transport market from and to Viet Nam. 

The document also plans to build specific programs and plans to ensure one time performance (OTP); strengthen investigations on service quality; protect legitimate rights of customers and ensure obligations of transporters. 

The document also noticed the importance of conducting surveys which assess customers’ satisfaction of aviation services./.
