82.6% of private enterprises say production situations better, more sustainable in Q3

VGP – About 82.6% of the non-State enterprises are optimistic that the production situations in the third quarter of 2020 will be better and more sustainable in comparison with the previous quarter.

The General Department of Statistics has recently announced the outcomes of the survey on business trend of firms operating in processing and manufacturing in the third quarter of 2020. 

According to the survey, 49.1% of firms predicted that the situations will be better than the second quarter while 19.4% the respondents said the situations will be more difficult and 31.5% said that the production will be sustainable. 

The survey showed that 79.7% of the State-owned enterprises and 75.9% of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) firms believed that the production situations in the third quarter will get better and more sustainably from the previous quarter. 

Regarding factors that affect production of enterprises in the second quarter of 2020, 53.6% of businesses supposed that high competitiveness of domestic commodities are the biggest factor affecting the operation of enterprises.

Other factors also included low demand of domestic market (50.4%), difficulties in finance issues (33.5%) and low demand in the international market (28.2%). 

In term of production volume and sale in the third quarter of 2020, 48.8% of firms predicted that their production scale will increase while 18.1% and 33.1% said that their production will decrease and be stable, respectively. 

Only 18.3% of enterprises supposed that their orders will be reduced while 45.1% and 36.6% said their orders will rise and be stable, respectively.
