80 FIEs receive Golden Dragon Award

VGP - Eighty foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs), which have performed well and provided good products and services favored by consumers, were conferred with the Golden Dragon Award on January 24 in Hà Nội.

The annual prize is granted by the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Agency and the Việt Nam Economic Times to honor contributions made by FIEs to the Vietnamese economy.

Among the 80 prize winners, 25% operate in real estates and services, 14% in agriculture, fisheries, foodstuffs, beer and beverages, and 14% in construction and building materials.

According to the Foreign Investment Agency, Việt Nam lured foreign direct investment (FDI) of US $21 billion and saw some US $10 billion disbursed in 2009.

The foreign-invested sector’s industrial production value rose 8.1%, surpassing the country’s average of 7%.
