30th Diplomatic Conference opens

Since the organization of the 29th Diplomatic Conference, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has continuously launched the 12thParty Congress’ diplomatic policies, making contribution to maintaining peaceful and sustainable environment, resolutely struggled to protect independence and territorial integrity, ensured political stability and social security and order and improved the nation’s status. 

The international integration process has been realized comprehensively and actively, which has taken advantages of external resources for development and created force for enhancing domestic reforms and renovation. 

Partnership relations, especially with neighboring countries and other large nations in the region have been promoted sustainably. Multi-lateral diplomatic works have been carried out effectively. 

Viet Nam has joined and made practical contributions to consolidating and accelerating the formation of international and regional connections, particularly hosting APEC 2017. 

The 30th Diplomatic Conference aims to propose specific measures for diplomatic issues, prepare for Viet Nam carrying out key international roles such as the Chair of ASEAN 2020 and nomination for a non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 phase as well as actively boost international integration process, serving the nation’s socio-economic development.   

Delegates at the conference also focuses on discussing and evaluating the international and regional situations, diplomatic issues related to the nation’s security and development and set orientations for diplomatic works in the upcoming three years.
