Over the recent years, delegation exchanges at all levels have been organized, including Israeli Presidents Shimon Peres and Reuven Rivlin’s State visits to Viet Nam in 2011 and 2017 and Vietnamese Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai’s visit to Israel in 2016 and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan’s visit to Israel in 2018.

The two-way trade value exceeded US$1 billion over recent years. The two nations are striving to raise the bilateral trade turnover to US$3 billion in the near future.

Viet Nam’s key export items to Israel include coffee, cashew, footwear and garments.

Crucial mark in the two countries’ cooperation is science-technology, especially technology transfer in high-tech agriculture projects in the provinces of Vinh Phuc and Quang Ninh.

In 2018, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel has joined hand with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Israeli Embassy in Ha Noi and the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry to actively launch a number of economic diplomacy activities and trade and investment promotion activities to introduce Viet Nam’s products to Israel.

The finalization of the Free Trade Agreement negotiations in the upcoming time is expected to create new forces to boost trade, investment and tourism between the two countries, upgrading the bilateral relationship to a higher level, meeting the prospects of their leaders and people.
