Việt Nam boasts for valuable fruits
Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng gave nod to the organization of the event titled "First Việt Nam Fruit Festival.”

The festival, with 750 stalls for hundreds of fruits from all corners of Việt Nam, is expected to spotlight images of Vietnamese fruits, farmers, scientists, and enterprises.

Thanks to its climatic advantages, Việt Nam boasts for its abundance of tropical fruits, including pineapple, grape-fruits, mango, and pitaya.

According to the General Customs Office, the export turnover of processed fruits in the first ten months last year was US $58 million, up 24.6% against the same period of 2008.

Vietnamese fruits are now available in more than 50 countries and territories all around the world.

Việt Nam plans to earn US $760 million from exporting fruits in 2010 and US $1.2 billion in 2020.
