17th IT Week to open late October

VGP - The annual Việt Nam IT Week will be held from October 29 to November 02 in Hà Nội Typical IT products will be displayed at the event.

Different from the previous events, the 17th IT Week will give visitors many chances to purchase and own products and services at low prices.

The main activities of the event include informatics, electronics, audio-visual, digital technology showcases.

Two days prior to the 17th IT Week, an APEC seminar on “software outsourcing - opportunity for small and medium enterprises” will be held at Sofitel Plaza, Hà Nội. The seminar, held by the Việt Nam Informatics Association and the Vietnamese Institute of Information Technology (VIIT), is a companion of the IT Week and part of the joint activities of APEC 2008.

According to an official from VIIT, the seminar helps to increase software outsourcing capacity of IT enterprises in the Asia-Pacific region.

Speakers from Japan, India and China as well as Vietnamese IT managers and policymakers will also have chance to share experience of designing policies on software outsourcing.

There will a roundtable workshop on setting up a software outsourcing network within the APEC economies in the morning of October 29.
