Deputy PM Dung is making a tour to the central region to direct local authorities to cope with a powerful storm, which is forecast to hit the central provinces from Phu Yen to Ba Ria-Vung Tau by Sunday morning and may cause torrential rain and floods.

Evacuation must be completed prior to 7 pm on November 18, the Deputy PM stressed.

By 4:00 pm on Saturday, the storm was about 400km to the East of the central coast and is heading Westward at a velocity of 20-25 km per hour.

The same day, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged relevant ministries and localities to keep close watch on the developments of the storm and take effective measures to diminish consequences.
