100,000 ha of rubber trees to be planted in Cambodia

VNGOVNet – Acting on behalf of the PM, Standing Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng has just lauded the great efforts and initial achievements gained by the Vietnam Rubber Corporation (VRC) in planting rubber trees in the collaboration with Cambodia. The Deputy PM also agreed with the VRC’s proposal to plant in Cambodia 4,000 ha in 2007 with an estimated investment capital of US$ 4 million.

The VRC is allowed to transfer money, rubber varieties, machinery, and fuels to serve the planting of rubber trees in 2007. This sum is included in the total estimate permitted by the Vietnamese Government for the VRC to plant 100,000 ha of rubber trees in Cambodia. The VRC is responsible for strictly managing the Project and the mentioned amount of money.

The Deputy PM assigned the VRC leaders to work with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the related ministries and sectors in completing procedures to obtain investment licenses given by Vietnam and Cambodia within 2007.
