Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the outgoing Ambassador for his successful term in Viet Nam.

The bilateral ties have become a typical model following the upgrading of their diplomatic relations to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World".

So far, Japan is the leading ODA provider for Viet Nam with an additional US$ 1 billion in 2023. Japan's cumulative direct investment in Viet Nam rose to US$74.2 billion, a 24 percent increase since the start of the diplomat's term. Two-way trade reached US$45 billion, up 13.6 percent from 2020.

He expressed his hope that the ambassador would continue promoting the Vietnam-Japan relationship in future positions.

In reply, Yamada expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese Government, ministries, agencies, localities and people for their support during his tenure.

The Ambassador said that the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World between Viet Nam and Japan" is gradually being translated into concrete action through various projects, including the Metro Line 2 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ben Luc – Long Thanh section of the north-south expressway, the Viet Nam-Japan University, and the Yen Xa wastewater treatment system in Ha Noi.

He proposed the two countries promote cooperation in areas like digital transformation, green and energy transition, renewable energy, biomass power and emission reduction./.
