NA Chairman welcomes IPU President, Secretary General

The NA Chairman said that the IPU-132 will be a crucial forum for delegates to discuss their roles in forming new sustainable development goals, making these goals into real policies to bring benefits for people.

He thanked the IPU support for Viet Nam in hosting the important international event while reiterating the nation’s readiness to work closely with the international community and countries’ parliaments to build a world of sustainable development in line with the IPU-312 theme  “Sustainable Development Goals: Turning words into action”.

The IPU President and Secretary General lauded Viet Nam’s preparations for the IPU-132.

Mr. Saber Chowdhury asserted that with 166 members, the IPU holds its 132nd assembly in the context where the international community experience a new development period where the role of parliaments and delegates is increasingly crucial.

He highly valued the contents of the IPU-132, which refers to important issues such as water, security and international law.

The official hoped that the successful organization of the event will contribute to the joint development of the IPU and the international community.
