Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz made that above statement during his reception for visiting Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang in Havana on April 15.

The Cuban PM expressed thanks to Viet Nam for providing stable commercial rice supply to Cuba and developing food production in Cuba.

He hailed Viet Nam's role as the biggest investor in the Asia-Pacific region in Cuba and the second largest investor in the Mariel Special Development Zone.

The PM proposed the two Governments further strengthen coordination in implementing high-level agreements reached as well as the results of the 41st session of the Viet Nam–Cuba Intergovernmental Committee.

He expected that Viet Nam would continue to encourage its businesses to pour more investment in Cuba.

Tran, for his part, conveyed Vietnamese leaders' greetings to the Cuban PM, asserting that Viet Nam will continue to accompany and support Cuba within its capability.

Viet Nam protests and calls for an end to blockade and embargo against Cuba, the guest underlined.

The Deputy PM appreciated the two sides effectively promoting existing cooperation mechanisms, making efforts to ramp up economic, trade and investment cooperation, including supporting the operations of businesses of the two countries, and effectively deploying agricultural cooperation projects, contributing to ensuring food security in Cuba./.
