Construction begins on Dong Dang-Tra Linh expressway

VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday attended the ground-breaking ceremony of the Dong Dang-Tra Linh expressway with total investment capital of VND14,331 billion.

The expressway spans 93.35 km, starting from Tan Thanh bordergate in Lang Son province's Van Lang district to the intersection of Highway 3 in Cao Bang province's Quang Hoa district.

Once completed in early 2026, the expressway will serve as a new route facilitating transportation fo goods from Lach Huyen International Port in Hai Phong City to Chongqing-Urumqi (China) – Khorgos city (Kazakhstan) to European countries.

Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony, Prime Minister Pham urged Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces, and the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Planning and Investment to mull over the expansion of the expressway from two lanes to four lanes.

After 2025, the expressway will be lengthened to Tra Linh bordergate in Cao Bang province, bringing the total length of the expressway to 115km.

To date, Viet Nam has built nearly 1,900km of expressways and the figure is planned to increase to 3,000 by 2030 and 5,000km by 2050./.
