Higher minimum salary in enterprises since 2011

VGP – Since January 1, 2011, the Government will raise the monthly salary benchmark applied for employees in both State-owned enterprises (SoEs) and foreign-invested one by VND 100,000-370,000 (US $5-18).

The Government has just issued Decrees 107/2010/NĐ-CP and 108/210/NĐ-CP stipulating minimum salaries of Vietnamese employees working for foreign and domestic enterprises.

The salary benchmarks will be higher than the present ones by VND 100,000-370,000.  

The benchmarks are classified in four regions from big cities to remote areas as shown in the following table:

The Decrees also encourage enterprises to pay minimum wages higher than the above regional benchmarks./.
