The Ministers centered their discussions on orientations for economic cooperation in 2010.

This year, ASEAN will channel its resources to realize important agreements, including the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA), the ASEAN Comprehensive Investment Agreement (ACIA), and the Protocol on ASEAN services.

The delegates also agreed on measures to raise enterprises and people’s awareness of ASEAN economic integration in the interest of the communities.

Presided over the Meeting, Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Vũ Huy Hoàng emphasized the Association’s top priority of fully realizing its commitments and economic cooperation programs in order to establish the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.

ASEAN Ministers highly appreciated Việt Nam’s proposal of making the Leaders’ draft declaration on sustainable economic recovery and development, which will be released at the 16th ASEAN Summit scheduled on April 7-9 in Hà Nội.
