VND 1.4 bil. for student housing program in biggest cities
VGP – From now to 2011, 15 new projects on student housing will be carried out in Hà Nội and Hồ Chí Minh City, using governmental bond capital and meeting the demand of 127,619 students.
The PM just
signed a decision approving the list of student housing projects in Hà Nội and Hồ
Chí Minh City using governmental bond capital.
More modern dormitories are built for students
Accordingly, Hà Nội will
receive VND 625 billion to finish 10 projects, providing accommodation for 52,419
students.
Meanwhile, Hồ Chí Minh City
is allocated with VND 800 billion for 5 projects which will meet the demand of 75,200
students.
All these 15 projects were
kick-started in 2009 and 12 of them will be completed this year.
There are 88 projects of
this kind being conducted in 28 localities nationwide, with the total capital
of VND 3,500 billion, in which 72 projects must be finished this year and 16 remaining
ones in Q3 of 2011.
It is estimated that Việt
Nam has about 4.3 million students by 2015, 70% of them need accommodation. The
existing dormitories and those under construction can meet the demand of about
1 million students only.
The rest 2 million students
require the construction of 4.8 million square meters of house in the period of
2011-2015. The total investment capital is estimated to be VND 30,000 billion.
