The Government chief required the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) to complete necessary diplomatic procedures.

Earlier, the agreement was jointly inked by Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyễn Thanh Sơn and Croatian Ambassador Zeljko Bosnjak on October 29.

The agreement shows the determination of the two governments in facilitating traveling of their respective citizens and strengthening the fine bilateral ties.

Việt Nam and the Republic of Croatia established diplomatic ties on July 1, 1994.

On the occasion of the visit of Croatian President Stjepan Mesic to Việt Nam in March 2008, the two sides initialed the agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders and sped up the negotiation process of the agreement on encouragement and protection of investment as well as the anti-double taxation pact.
